President of Veterinary Council Underscores Commitment to Innovation at SMARTDVM Launch

 


Ikeja, Lagos – May 22, 2024 – The Radisson Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, played host to a momentous event today as SmartDVM, a revolutionary veterinary practice management software solution, was unveiled. The event gained even greater significance with an address delivered by the President of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, mni.

President Baju’s speech highlighted the Veterinary Council’s dedication to equipping the veterinary community with cutting-edge technologies. She outlined the Council’s recent strides in this area, including the launch of the Veterinary Tracking Application, the digitization of veterinary licenses and cards, the introduction of the veterinary seal, and the creation of a national geo-mapping system for veterinary practice locations. These initiatives, President Baju emphasized, demonstrate the Council’s commitment to modernization and improved animal healthcare delivery.

President Baju further expressed the Veterinary Council’s unwavering support for groundbreaking advancements like SMARTDVM, designed to optimize the efficiency of veterinary practice management. Her presence at the event, alongside Dr. Oladotun Fadipe, the Registrar of the VCN, and Dr. Moses Arokoyo, the National President of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), underscored the importance placed on initiatives that empower Nigerian veterinarians.

The launch of SMARTDVM marks a significant step forward for the Nigerian veterinary landscape. With the backing of the Veterinary Council and leading figures within the profession, this innovative software solution has the potential to transform the way veterinary practices operate, ultimately leading to enhanced animal care across the nation.

Veterinary Council of Nigeria Inducts 120 Veterinary Para-Professionals to Combat Quackery

 The Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), in a continuous effort to combat quackery and uphold standards in the animal health sector, has inducted 120 Veterinary Para-Professionals (VPPs). The induction ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 30th, at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, where the VPPs graduated from the Department of Animal Health and Production Technology.
